first I wanna thank you Ahmad for answering me yesterday, now I meet another problem, it's when I want to put the site online, the online server name is different than the server wich I use to develop, also the parameters in the Nhibernate.cfg.xml are not the same for the server on line, so every time i want to put it online I need to change manualy the connection string in this xml file, So is there another way to do this? what do you recommend me to resolve this problem?

Hi Hassan,

There is no longer support for Sculpture 1.0, Where Sculpture 2.X takes the road,

About your problem, you can easily update the template 'NHibernateHelper' (in Sculpture installed directory) to satisfy your needs so Sculpture will use it each time on the generation process.

The project has been moved to www.dawliasoft.com.

1. Sculpture NEVER overwrite any file outside 'Generated Code' folder, so you work safely outside this folder.

About Themes, Sculpture generated applications designed where you can change the whole theme by simply overwrite the theme folder without tweaking any of the generated stuff.

About the layout of the applications, Sculpture gives you an inital look of your application and while the seperation of concerns is considered and applied best patterns for this separation (like MVVM) your desginers can take the XAML pages into the blend to give them better appearance without warring about the development activities.

All you need to do is draging the XAML page into the custom code with the same path and Sculpture will never generated it again (This step is illustrated in Sculpture tutorial - Part 4).

So you are free to change the appearance of any page without warry about the regeneration process.

2. Sculpture 2.0 remain open-source, the molds has a little cost described here.

Personally I think Sculpture is great! It makes me concentrate more on the business logic of the application. I just have a few questions in mind:

1. Is it easy or will it be easy to change the generated UI themes? Or do we need to do it manually. If we manually change the UI theme/skin, will the changes be overwritten when we generate/regenerate the UI code?

2. Will Sculpture 2.0 remain open-source? How about the molds?

Thanks and more power!

New Post: Need do changes on template file for NHibernate entity

Hi,

Thank you very much for this flexible tool, I am also enjoying it in our project.

There comes one problem. recently, our project has a new requirement---Record everything changes of DB, that mean, I need fetch properties name and it's value change history from entity.

e.g. Property Name: "Id", Old value: 1, New value 2.

So I found the code generate by sculpture is not convenient for this situation. So I want do some changes like below:

set
            {
                if (this._createBy != value)
                {
                    this.OnCreateByChanging(value);
                    this.SendPropertyChanging("CreateBy", _createBy);
                    this._createBy = value;
                    this.SendPropertyChanged("CreateBy", value);
                    this.OnCreateByChanged();
                    if (this._entityState == EntityState.Unchanged)
                        this._entityState = EntityState.Changed;
                }
            }

I send property name and value before and after changes to method, which will record change in a dictionary( I also thought use reflect to get value, but for weak of performance, I denied it)

Would you kindly give me some suggestion or tell me how to change template file?

Fantastic tool!!!

I am using Sculpture 1.0. At this stage I am simply playing around to see how I can use it in a up coming project. So there is nothing fancy going on.

I have generated a solution with NHibernate, WCF and Silverlight. (I tried exactly the same with NHibenate, ASMX and Silverlight).

Whe I hit F5 the project builds and starts running.

As Soon as I try to Add a new record for one of the entities, I get the following error:

An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI 'http://localhost:3798/MyExperiment.UI.Web/Services/MemberService.svc'. This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. You may need to contact the owner of the service to publish a cross-domain policy file and to ensure it allows SOAP-related HTTP headers to be sent. Please see the inner exception for more details.

(I get the same error when trying to access an asmx...)

I have added clientaccesspolicy.xml

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?><access-policy><cross-domain-access><policy><allow-from http-request-headers="*"><domain uri="*"/></allow-from><grant-to><resource path="/" include-subpaths="true"/></grant-to></policy></cross-domain-access></access-policy>

As well as crossdomain.xml

<?xml version="1.0"?><!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "http://www.macromedia.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd"><cross-domain-policy><allow-http-request-headers-from domain="*" headers="*"/></cross-domain-policy>

But I still experience the same issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
